Mayor Jack Seiler gives State of the City address during recognition ceremony – welcomes iCare. Fort Lauderdale, FL – June 29, 2012 – iCare, the Enterprise Cloud EHR provider, announced today the company was spotlighted by Jack Seiler, Mayor of the City of Fort Lauderdale in his State of the City address at the Museum of Discovery and Science.
Seiler, who delivered his speech to several hundred city residents, volunteers, first responders and officials gathered at the new EcoDiscovery Center was very optimistic about the future of the city.
“There is a heightened sense of optimism in our city as economic indicators confirm that our conservative fiscal management, progressive economic development initiatives and long-term investment strategies are paying off,” he said.
The Mayor cited a handful of promising new business who opened their doors 2012. One in particular, who has an aggressive job growth and expansion plan.
“We’re bringing new businesses to town, said Seiler. “iCare, a world-class high technology company, servicing healthcare facilities with an innovative Electronic Health record just came to town.”
iCare officially opened its doors on Las Olas Blvd. in early 2012 after a 12 month research, development and planning exercise. The company’s founders however are not new to the Fort Lauderdale business community. The company’s CEO Jim Riley, started Sunrise based Learn.com in 1999, a cloud-based learning management system leader, which was acquired by California, based Taleo Corporation (NASDAQ:TLEO) in 2010 which in turn was recently acquired by Oracle (NASDAQ:ORCL) for approximately $2 Billion.
“We’re very pleased with the recognition and we thank the Mayor for his kind words,” said Riley. “Our mission is to create an on-demand health information management service to replace traditional enterprise software technology, that will improve patient care and insure customer success. Healthcare facilities need to focus efforts and capital on patient care, not software. We are the first to market with a solution that is cloud-based and features full enterprise EHR capabilities.”
